Costume Designer, Author, Creative & Educator

I believe creativity can take many forms.

I am first a creative, I love deep exploration of form, function, and meaning. From designing clothing and jewelry in my early years, to costume design, textile arts, teaching, writing, and wearable art in the last 25 years, I've always been drawn to making things by hand and bringing ideas to life through craftsmanship. For the last decade I have been sharing this creative approach as an educator and author.

As an educator, I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of artists and sharing the creative processes that have shaped my career. Today, that knowledge has also found its way into my books, where design, making, storytelling, and teaching come together. Whether through a costume, a classroom, a handmade object, or the page of a book, my goal is always the same: to inspire creativity and meaningful connection.

Thank you for visiting my corner of that creative journey.

Our Approach

Artistry Meets Science

Erin Carignan integrates rigorous dye safety protocols and precise chemistry formulas into her textile work. This scientific foundation ensures vibrant, lasting colors and consistent results across all theatrical and commercial applications.

Her methodology extends to the art of theatrical storytelling, where every dye, distress, and detail contributes to the character's narrative. This holistic approach ensures costumes are not just garments, but integral parts of the performance.
